Families Together
Positive Parenting
Families Together is an intensive parent training and education program for parents who have lost their children to foster care or are at risk of doing so. Families Together provides goal-focused and interactive parent/child labs, weekly parent training, mental health assessments and counseling referrals, special education assessments and referrals, home visits, and family advocacy.
The families involved in Families Together are mandated families referred to us by Child Protective Services. In order to keep their children in their care or to have them returned home, parents are required to attend parenting classes and parent/child labs where they can learn appropriate ways to parent their children. The subjects taught in Families Together are researched-based and proven to show resiliency within families.
The following subjects taught in the parenting class help parents reach the goal of keeping their family together and learning more appropriate and new skills in order to enhance their parenting.
